'Such Love': Maundy Thursday Reflections
An 'Agape Meal', or Love Feast, is an ancient Christian fellowship meal that commemorates the meals Jesus shared with his disciples.
Traditionally it emphasizes community, sharing, and selfless love. I am planning a simple gathering involving prayer, scripture, singing, and sharing food.
We are inviting people to bring simple finger food (or drinks) which may be shared easily, and preferably which is sensitive to allergies etc as far as possible?
Although on this occasion we will reflect together on Jesus' final meal with his closest friends, it will not formally be a service of Holy Communion, but a time of quiet worship and reflection in anticipation of the events which follow over the Easter Weekend.
